Every Movie May Be Spiritual

Every day life is filled with spirituality.  It may come from compassion.  It may come from helping another.  It may come from meditation.  It may come from a walk in nature.  But, it also comes from laughter.  Not only is the below movie, Grown Ups, hilarious it has many wonderful messages within it. 

We just need to look.  When we do we will see things much differently than if we just go along on autopilot.  So, consider all the movies you watch....we are willing to bet that if you look, you will be able to find divine spirit and a message somewhere within - it may or may not be obvious.

You Need to Look Inside

A story from The Power of Now by Eckart Tolle.

A beggar had been sitting by the side of the road for thirty years.

One day a stranger walked by.

"Spare some change?" mumbled the beggar.

"I have nothing to give you," said the stranger.  Then he asked: "What's that you're sitting on?"

"Nothing," replied the beggar.  "Just an old box.  I've been sitting on it for as long as I can remember."

"Ever look inside?" asked the stranger.

"No," said the beggar.  "What's the point, there's nothing in there."

"Have a look inside," insisted the stranger.  The beggar, reluctantly, managed to pry open the lid.  With astonishment, disbelief, and elation, he saw that the box was filled with gold.

I am that stranger who has nothing to give you and who is telling you to look inside.  Not inside any box, as in the parable, but somewhere even closer: inside yourself.

Pain

Pain is your body's way of trying to tell you something.  Often times (if not all the time) physical pain is in some way related to emotional wounds.  Listen to your body.  Take time to sit quietly and really listen.  Do not just focus on the pain. 

An example: Let's say your throat is horribly sore or you have laryngitis.  Is there somewhere you feel you are not being heard?  Think on this a bit.  

If you don't get the message through your emotions, your psyche, or other ways your Spirit, the Universe, your soul tries to send you a message, eventually it will work its way out through your body.
